Polka dots?
It doesn't even matter.
The ‘wow' factor isn't so much about what the gown looks like but who designed it.
Nope, not Klum herself, though that would be quite amazing.
It's actually a "Project Runway" original - sort of.
Klum's black-and-white ensemble was created by season 8 runner-up, Mondo Guerra.
And while it looks a bit different than the one showcased in the season finale – check out the sleeves, or lack thereof – and Klum was actually dared to wear it by famed designer Michael Kors, it's no doubt an honor for Guerra that a model and celeb of Klum's stature is wearing one of his designs.
And to a big-time Hollywood event, no less!
Klum donned the floor-length, eye-popping frock at a Los Angeles screening of "Black Swan," during the closing night of the American Film Institute's AFI Fest 2010.
Guerra, you may not have been there but you've definitely arrived.
