Avril Lavigne has been making a lot of news lately. The 21 year old Canadian-born singer from Belleville, Ontario is the new girl-next-door making a helluva living. The rocker just purchased a home in Los Angeles for a whopping $9.5 million dollars. It is a three-story, 12,000-square-foot Tuscan-style gated home has eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. The house comes on an acre of land including an elevator, office, high tech kitchen and a 10-car garage.
More good news...Avril Lavigne will soon be having the role of comic book character under her belt. She becomes the imaginary friend of a disaffected teenager in a new graphic novel series this week. The singer has been recreated as an animated heroine in Del Rey Manga's new comic book Avril Lavigne's Make 5 Wishes, where her animated character appears to a teen called Hana, who is struggling to come to terms with her troubled life and avoid the temptations of a demon she met on the Internet.
Avril is a pure showgirl and entertainer, often known to be "cool" to reveal her assets on and off stage in a drunk (mostly?) or non-drunk state. Here's a video of Avril showing her ass to the overwhelmed fans...

However, all is not so good in Avril's life. She recently got pretty upset when her pal and one-time songwriting partner Lauren Christie, a part of Matrix songwriting team, claimed that Avril did very little to create her hits like Sk8Ter Boi and I'M With You, excepting tweaking a few words here and there. Adding to all this, Avril recently denied blaming pop rival Britney Spears' recent breakdown on a weak character. Lavigne was quoted in British newspaper The Sun dismissing Spears' headline-grabbing spells in rehab and her bizarre hair-shaving episode earlier this year as examples of celebrities who can't control their fame.
All said and done, it is for sure that Avril Lavigne's really making a lot of news and probably living a perfect life of an "American" star.
I wanted to cry. When you create something, and someone takes that away from you, it's like (they're taking away) your baby. Lauren and I would sing melodies and write lyrics together in the backyard on the blanket under an orange tree, and we had a great time. It was like a family.
